San Ramon Student Shares Award-Winning History Project With County Board of Education

Windemere Ranch student Julienne Sauer presented at Wednesday night's CCOE meeting.

Soon-to-be seventh grader, Julienne Sauer, was invited to present her 2011 National History Day’s exhibit, that earned her a National Finalist Award, to the Contra Costa County Board of Education, on Wednesday.

The student’s presentation not only captivated the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Ovick, but also the entire meeting’s audience, which included a very impressed Sen. Mark DeSaulnier, D-Concord.

After presenting her exhibit, titled The Cable Car Wars: A City Debates to Preserve its Character, Sauer answered additional questions about her experience attending the national competition, which was held at the University of Maryland earlier last month.
