I live in Clayton with my family: my wife of 30 years, and two blessed children. I picked a B.A. from St. Mary's College in Management while working as a police officer in the City of Pittsburg. After I retired from the PD in 1999, I studied Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, Ca.
While I love to write, I was not formally trained as a journalist. My work is mostly personal essays of a poetic and spiritual nature.
Some of my work can be read on my Blog, which you can visit by going to: www.kevinkeeler.blogspot.com
I freely concede the influence my philosophical and theological studies have had on me in this sense. I believe few would argue that any of us are immune to our life experiences influencing your world view. To this end, I tend to see the world through a philosophical and historical lens.
I am a student of photography. I began studying in the late 1990’s when I was drawn to capture images that were not the gruesome and bleak kind of forensic images taken during my career as a police officer. So, I set out to learn how to capture images that are pleasing to the eye (well, my eye anyway.)
