How would PG&E PAY for any damages? With their base source of income comes from theirRead More customers, won't they just roll the acquired damages on to their customers?
Hugo April 16, 2014 at 09:43 am
Let me guess, this man was not really qualified for the job but got the job because of affirmativeRead More action. Just like other "entitled" people who think the world owes them and they just take. All the liberals feels so sorry for these people that they just let it slide by. Remember Muslim bakery? I know someone who worked at a section 8/ below market housing complex. Drug dealers were living there after their grandmothers died. People threw garbage all over and trashed their apartments and then demanded to have the apartments renovated. Our system is broken. Personal responsibility is what we need. Also, in a civilized society, people think about what is good for the whole, not just the individual.

Shouldn't the bail be more or as much as the amount he is accused of stealing? 20% of $500k is moreRead More like a tax; he could just bolt and still have plenty.
Ken Briggs April 16, 2014 at 09:20 pm
Hugo You are maybe right , but with the low bail, will he still stay around ? doeshe still going toRead More the same church ? hell he should repay every dime plus interest and jail time . with his smart as kids maybe they mightknow how to repay the funds . any way he should be not paid to do nothing not even to use a computer.

This is a sham and a disgrace. This woman has been a part of 4 years of injustice for NanetteRead More Dillard, seeking a scapegoat for the board and county's mismanagement of ACAP funds. It's a reprehensible disgrace that she, or anyone representing the Alameda County judicial system be rewarded for anything. http://www.change.org/petitions/california-state-auditor-investigate-the-closing-of-acap-and-the-theft-of-300-000-in-federal-anti-poverty-funds-by-alameda-county-including-stimulus-funds#share

Getting people like Schwartz away from children and teenagers is great, but these people areRead More suffering from terrible psychological disorders. They also need treatment. Simply labeling them as "predetors" and then locking them up is inhumane. The same could be said for many other criminals. Any plans for that in the next few centuries, world?
Not the scarecrow April 6, 2014 at 09:19 am
I can't believe your comment and don't know where to start..... For these criminals (not people -Read More they have lost their right to be called human), there is no rehabilitation. Look at Cary Verse. Even after he was chemically castrated he was still caught with a young boy, thankfully before he had molested him (I hope). For some, their brains will never be right, either due to naturally born conditions, chemical changes, or drug use. Arsonists, pedophiles, murderers.....there will be no rehabilitation. Don't fool yourself into thinking they have been either. The money required for "treatment" of these criminals would be infinite. They can never be returned to the free world. Would you, Michael, really want one of them to live next to you?

We could be reading a similar story about every single one of our "public servants",Read More democrat or republican. Everything is for sale for what amounts to peanuts to the corporations and criminals that make "political contributions". The larger we allow the state to grow the worse this is going to get. "when you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and pull then by work, and your laws don't protect you against them but protect them against you - when you see corruption Being rewarded and honestly being a self sacrifice, you may know that your society is doomed." Ayn Rand

It is unbelievable to me that he is still collecting his salary. While the federal government wagesRead More a war on terrorism, Yee tries to sell them weapons. I hope he sees the inside of a prison as a result. Imagine how the other corrupt politicians in Sacramento are sweating.

Anybody who criticizes Leland Yee is racist. Felonies not withstanding....
Hutch March 28, 2014 at 09:10 pm
What's the difference between Leland Yee doing favors for political contributions and otherRead More politicians doing favors to unions and corporations? The whole system is rigged to screw taxpayers. They need to stop all personal gifts and corporate donations including unions.
Hutch March 31, 2014 at 02:19 pm
It's time for this crap to stop. Send Jerry Hill a message Senator.Hill@senate.ca.gov Tell him toRead More change laws to stop all "gifts" and stop contributions by lobbyists, corporations and unions. Also if a politician is suspended they should lose all pay and benefits unless they are later exonerated.

St. Baldrick's is a great foundation and it's so good to hear that there was a local event. I hopeRead More they will make it an annual event. When I put an event together in CO we had the fire and police departments competing on who could raise the most funds. It was a blast and that year we raised over $25k.

How about "Don't answer your door at all.." I don't trust no one. If it's a seriousRead More emergency and I see a firetruck and cop car out front and they are banging on my door, I'll prob answer it. A city worker like described above, no way ever would I answer the door. They can call if it's that important. Trust no one at your door these days people. Not worth it.

Leaving all accusations of guilt aside, I see this ruling as an erosion of the legal definition of aRead More minor. In essence now, a high school kid or maybe even a middle school kid could be tried like an adult under this ruling. I do not think the courts have thought this through. And just for the sake of argument, where does the real responsibility lie? The drinker? The server (who maybe not be experienced enough to judge someones intoxication level) or the manufacturers and advertisers who promote drinking to the teen/college demographic? If minors are going to be treated as adults in the courts then they should be given the full rights of an adult!
Ken Briggs February 27, 2014 at 11:09 am
oh yes ,but the under folks ,kids or what ever knows that you are not to drink booze til you are atRead More the age of 21. but i guess the kid could drink and driv e and kill some one and he or she can get away with it . that is wrong . if you are under age and you know it so what grow up and pay the price . the ones that charge you a fee or ask for a donation is still charging you a fee they should go to jail if you hurt or kill some one . time for the under age to grow up or send you to a nut hospital til you understand what you did is wrong and now you grow up fast if you wantout of the nut hospital you got to tell the courts why you were so dumb .
