Montevideo Elementary School was established in 1977 and is one of 13 elementary schools in San Ramon. Situated at the edge of a community park, the school serves Kindergarten through fifth grade. Enrollment is approximately 570 students, many of whom walk to school from the surrounding neighborhoods. With API scores consistently above 900, it is a California Distinguished School and ranks as one of the top performing schools in the district, county and state. The current principal is Sharon Keeton.
