Sweet Deal for a Good Cause

San Ramon families joined the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District during 31 Cent Scoop Night to support local families living with Muscular Dystrophy

Hundreds of ice cream lovers of all ages gathered at San Ramon's Baskin-Robbins Wednesday evening for its fourth annual 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration.

San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District on-duty crews and off-duty personnel served customers their favorite flavors for just 31 cent per scoop, and hosted a Fill the Boot fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy.

Donations placed in the firefighter boot--which was filled multiple times throughout the evening--will directly support Bay Area families living with the disease.

Trina Morrow, owner of the San Ramon Baskin-Robbins store, said that last year they served up 2,100 scoops. Although Wednesday night's event started off a bit slower due to the weather, Morrow seemed confident that they would reach or surpass that number.

This event was supported by the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District and the San Ramon Valley Firefighters Association.
