Time to Register for Summer Camps In San Ramon, Danville

Enrollment is underway or starts soon for many summer camps. Here's a selection of camps from Danville, San Ramon and Dublin.

With the choice and variety of summer camps available in 2013, boredom won't be an option.

Organizations, from the YMCA to your local parks and recreation department, offer dozens of camp choices for science, theater, sports, music and more. Whether you're looking for an all-around experience or a more focused camp, this list features a few in your town and in cities nearby. (Feel free to suggest other camps in the comments below.)

San Ramon

Location: San Ramon
Name: City of San Ramon Summer Camps 2013

 Type of camp: All ages; weekly variety including dance, art, writing, sports, , cooking, skateboarding, chess, robotics and swimming.
Cost: Varies by choice, weekly average $100 to $200. 
Where: Varies by camp.
When: June 17 to Aug. 23.
Registration: Resident registration begins March 1; non-residents March 18.

Name: Crow Canyon Nature Day Camp

Type of camp: San Ramon's oldest running camp; science/nature focus for grades 1 to 5.
Cost: Weekly $175 for residents, $218 for non-residents. 
Where: Varies by camp.
When: Weekly sessions June 25 to Aug. 17.
Registration: Underway; space is limited and fills fast.
Details: Runs in partnership with city and East Bay Parks and offers weekly field trips to Chabot Space and Science CenterLake Del ValleOakland Zoo and more.

Name: Diablo Valley College For Kids

Type of camp: Summer college program for kids in grades 4 to 9.

Cost: $50 per class in session one, $55 per class in session two. Photography classes are higher. Details here.
Where: Diablo Valley College, San Ramon campus at 1690 Watermill Road.
When: Two sessions, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays -- June 8 to July 3, and July 9 to 25.
Registration: Informational brochures expected mid-April.
Details: College faculty teach enrichment courses in such subjects as fine arts, music and science to young people.

Danville 

Location: Danville
Name: City of Danville Summer Camps 2013

Type of camp: From Pre-K to teens, variety of traditional day camps and specialized enrichment camps.
Cost: Varies by choice. 
Where: Varies by camp.
When: Runs through summer.

Name: All West Lacrosse

Type of camp: U7 to U15 lacrosse for boys and girls
Cost: $375. Early-bird, goalie and U7 half-day options available.
Where: Osage Station Park, 816 Brookside Drive.
When: June 25 to 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  
Registration: Underway here for boys and here for girls. After June 21, pay extra $25.
Details: Lacrosse fundamentals, scrimmages. Full gear/equipment required.

Name: Peter Worstell's Be The Best Camps.

Type of camp: Boys lacrosse for rising third to 12th graders.  
Cost: Grades 7 to 12, $450 before March 15/$495 after; grades 3 to 6 $250 before March 15/$275 after.
Where: Grades 3 to 6, Diablo Vista Middle School; grades 7 to 12, Osage Station Park.
When: Grades 3-6- July 8-9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; grades 7-12- July 11-13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Name: Camp Galileo: Danville.

Type of camp: Weekly themed day camp (such as space and safari) for pre-K through grade 5.
Cost: $369 per week, with multiple-week discounts.
Where: Green Valley Elementary School, 1001 Diablo Road.
When: June 24 to Aug. 9, Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. extended care available.

Type of camp: Hands-on, kid-friendly science curriculum.

Where: Sycamore Clubhouse, 635 Old Orchard Drive.

When: Mondays through Thursdays weeks of: June 24; July 8; July 15; July 22; July 29; Aug. 5,  8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Extended morning care available.)

Where: Dublin Adoption and Education Center, 4651 Gleason Drive, Dublin.
When: Grades 1 to 3 full-day June 17-21 and July 22-26, half-day July 8-12; grades 4 to 5 full day June 24-28, July 15-19, July 29-Aug.2; grades 6 to 8 Aug. 5-9 or Aug. 12-16.

Type of camp: Water safety, CPR, rescue, first aid for ages 8 to 13.
Cost: $125 for half-day sessions, either 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Alameda County and Contra Costa County residents.
Where: Varies by city.
When: Pleasanton/Livermore July 8 to Aug. 16; Antioch June 17 to July 19; all other locales June 17 to Aug. 16.

Cost: $200 to $250 per weekly sessions for residents,varies by selection. (Non-resident fees are higher.)
Where: Tilden Nature Area north of Tilden Regional Park.

Name: Oakland Zoo Camps for 2013.
Type of camp: Science and nature for pre-K through high school.

I'm wondering if they just recently changed the picture which is whyRead More we are all just noticing it if indeed it truly has been there since the 80s.......I certainly hope that it is an old sign and that this is not the beginning of other billboard signs lining our 680 corridor.

Get rid of it, nobody wants to see trash like this ! Been here 35 years and its the only one I'veRead More seen, hopefully its the last !!!! I'm sure most people here don't want it around, we need to find a way to get it taken down !
