Celebrating Forever Homes and Hoping For More

We're celebrating the dogs we've adopted so far this year and hoping that you'll continue helping us spread the word about finding our other dogs forever homes.

You could say we celebrate at every dog adoption event. Whether there are 10 dogs adopted or 33 (that was the number at our last adoption event!) we are so thrilled to know that our loving, sweet dogs have found a forever family.

We typically blog about dogs we have waiting for a forever home and we'll do that again in this post. But first, we'd like to share some exciting news. So far this year, 548 dogs have been adopted from Stonecliffe Animal Rescue! Yes, that's more than 500 dogs who have been saved and given a second chance at life.

In so many ways, our rescue is a family. Since 2003, we have been a no-kill shelter. The president and operator of Stonecliffe Rescue is Terri, a woman we consider a "hero" for saving these precious animals who don't have a voice. Terri works tirelessly to make sure she saves as many dogs as possible and with a team of volunteers, we're all trying to make a difference one dog at a time.

The truth is, whether you have 5 volunteers or 20, it's all about the dogs.

Dogs like Niko (in the photo on the left) or his litter-mate Nala. Niko is an 8-month-old, 50 lb cattle dog mix. He may mature around 65 lbs. Both dogs are very playful and get along well with other dogs. They have learned the sit command. They're loving, gentle and would make a great addition to any family.

Before we wrap up this blog post, we want to let everyone know that there is another adoption event this Sunday from 11am to 3pm at Dublin's Petsmart. We'd love for you to tell your family, friends and neighbors about our adoption event. And, we'd love for you to share this photo of Niko and Nala. We hope this is the weekend they find a forever home!
