Age is really just a number. Isn't that true? And what so many people might not realize is that it's true for dogs, too.
In fact, we tend to think that there are really a lot of great benefits with adopting a dog who has left those puppy years behind.
Harley, the dog we introduced you to last week, is still patiently waiting for her forever home. She's six-years-old and we can't help but wonder if that's a discouragement to people. You can read her story by clicking here and we hope it's a story you'll continue to share. Just because she's six, doesn't mean she won't make a great companion for many years to come. In fact, she won't chew up anything like a puppy would, she very well-mannered and she's incredibly calm. All characteristics we think make for a great, loyal dog.
This week we also want to introduce you to a sweet poodle mix named Beauty. Like Harley, she isn't a puppy. Beauty is four-years-old. But that means she's had four years to learn great manners, understand right from wrong and know how much
Beauty is just that: beautiful. She's loving, gentle and not hyper. She is housetrained, cratetrained and a great companion. If you're looking for a loyal, faithful companion, this is your dog.
Beauty was rescued by Stonecliffe from Kings County pound in August. We're hoping that our next adoption event is her lucky day, her chance to find a forever family and her opportunity to remind us all that age is really just a number.
Stonecliffe Animal Rescue will hold another adoption event Saturday, 10/13 from 11am to 3pm at Petsmart in Dublin.
