A Tale of Waiting

A sweet 6-year-old dog Australian Shepherd hopes her wait is over a new loving owner will come forward to adopt her.

As we all know, a lot of times life is about waiting. Waiting for a deilcious cup of coffee to brew, waiting for a storm to pass, waiting for someone special to come along. One of our dogs know all too well about waiting and we're hoping that wait is over with your help.

Harley is about 6-years-old and weighs a little more than 50 pounds. She's an Australian Shepherd and has a beautiful coat.

Harley was rescued by Stonecliffe Animal Rescue from a shelter in Coalinga. Many of the dogs at this shelter end up being transferred to Fresno and euthanized.

At one time, Harley had an owner who said they would return to the shelter to pick her up. She waited, but that never happened. So when the owner of Stonecliffe saw her in the kennel, she knew she couldn't leave Harley behind. One look in her eyes and you know this sweet dog is special.

Harley loves people. She loves going for a walk or a ride and gets really excited whenever she sees a leash. She's calm, gentle and very loving. She clearly just wants to belong and loves being a companion.

Stonecliffe Animal Rescue will hold another adoption event Saturday, 10/6 from 11am to 3pm at Petsmart in Dublin.

Harley has spent so much time waiting. We're hoping that you'll share her story and spread the word about this awesome dog. Last week you helped us find Margie and Ollie a home. Can we do the same for Harley? Let's turn the tables for her. We want someone to arrive at our next adoption event waiting for her. As always, thank you Patch readers for your help.

Could we please have an article like this featured weekly. I volunteer at the Animal Shelter in Dublin where many animals are killed because they're either too full or have been there too long. If these dogs and cats where "featured" weekly they might just get a second change. The volunteer group TVAR does work closely with the shelter but there are only so many "foster homes" and so much one group can do with a government run agency. Please take this into consideration. Thank you!

I whole heartedly agree. I think that is a great idea. The more the information is passed, the better their chances of surviving. Now that the holidays are upon us some people might consider adopting some pets from shelters.

CV Patch features the latest notable crimes weekly.
Maybe they wouldnt mind attaching featured pets as part of the same posting. I'm sure there are quite a few people who do read the crime article and the featured pets while get more attention being a part of the same article. Or if not attached, at least at the same time.

HELLO PATCH
I see the crime blotter has been posted, but no featured pets of the week. Did you not see these comments or just didn't think it was a good idea to attach the two together? Could you post some sort of featured pets weekly?

Update: Harley is still available for adoption. We will be holding an adoption event this Saturday at Dublin's Petsmart. Please continue to share her story and help us find her a home! We'll write an update after our adoption event and feature the story of another one of our awesome dogs looking for a forever home.

Oh Harley! You are tugging at my heartstrings! I have two rescues who are the most wonderful dogs EVER...please someone, give Harley a good home. They bring us so much more love than we could ever imagine. Please keep us updated and PATCH...I would much rather read a dog blotter than a crime blotter.
