San Ramon Baseball U14 Elite PONY Slammers

This weekend the San Ramon Baseball 14U Elite Pony Slammers participated in the Battle at the Creek tournament at the Twin Creeks fields in Sunnyvale winning three out of three into the finals.

In game 1 on Saturday, the San Ramon Slammers faced off against the NorCal Grizzlies, winning 5-4.

In game 2 on Saturday, the Slammers were up against the California Bulldogs. The Slammers won 14-2.

Highlights:

• Barradas two-run homer in game one.
• Two runners thrown out at home from the outfield by Bilse and Pineda.
• Pineda's great catch of a sinking line drive in center.
• Murdoch to Adams picking off a runner at 1st.
• Murdoch to Fischer throwing out a runner at 2nd.
• Huettenhain to Fischer picking off a runner at 2nd, in the wheel pick.
• Every player on the team scored at least one run and had 15 batters come to the plate in the 5th inning.
• Huettenhain's fancy footwork on double steals to allow Barradas and Murdoch to steal home.
• Cardoza's bunt knocks in two RBIs.
• Niles' RBI single to start the beginning of the end for the Bulldogs.
• Potoukian, after a week in Disneyland, still has not lost his magnetic charm with two more hit by pitches. He's been hit by 27 pitches this season.
• A number of nice hits by all the players, including Farooq. Adams' pitching also added to the success of the team.
• Game 3 on Sunday, the Slammers played against the Trojans, winning 14-12.
• The championship game on Sunday between the Slammers and the Trojans was a close game, however, the Trojans took the win 5-2.
