Monte Vista edges San Ramon Valley while Dougherty Valley is crushed by Dublin High

Here are the scores of the local high school football games played Thursday evening.

Monte Vista 34  San Ramon Valley 33

In a thrilling game, Monte Vista High came from behind to defeat San Ramon Valley High, 34-33, in their annual battle for bragging rights in Danville.

The Wolves led 7-3 in the first quarter before the two teams traded touchdowns and San Ramon Valley went into the locker room at halftime with a 14-10 advantage.

San Ramon Valley held onto a 24-18 advantage in the third quarter before the Mustangs rallied for the one-point victory.

Monte Vista has now won three in a row. They finish the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-2 league mark.

San Ramon Valley ends with an 8-2 overall record and a 5-2 league record.

Both teams had already qualified for the playoffs in Division I.

Dublin 40  Dougherty Valley 0

Dublin High crushed Dougherty Valley High, 40-0, in their annual end-of-the-season rivalry game.

The Gaels took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

Dublin stretched that advantage to 20-0 at halftime and then poured it on in the second half.

Dublin finishes the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 3-3 record in league play.

Dougherty Valley finished with a 3-7 overall record and an 0-6 record in league. It's unlikely the Wildcats will be chosen for post-season play.

Dublin had already qualified for the playoffs in Division II.

On Friday evening, California High traveled to Concord to battle De La Salle High.

De La Salle came out victorious, 24-3.

Cal High is now 7-3 overall and 4-3 in league play.

De La Salle is 9-1 overall and 7-0 in league play.

Both teams have qualified for the playoffs in Division I.
