For beginner rowers in the 7th & 8th grades, Oakland Youth Rowing offers a 3 week, 3 day/week Introduction to Rowing program, which will prepare beginners to join the Racing Team or our Recreational class at any point during the season.
The emphasis is on learning, physical conditioning, teamwork, and of course fun! Participants learn the basics of sculling (rowing with two oars) in a safe, flat-water environment. This is an excellent opportunity to try out the sport and learn the tools and techniques they'll need to continue as rowers!
Practices are W,F 4:00-6:00PM and Sat 7:30-9:30AM.
Sessions run: Feb 29 - Mar 17 & Mar 21 - Apr 7
