Cal High Claims EBAL Title

The California High football team won its first East Bay Athletic League title last week with a 21-3 game against Livermore, an article in the Contra Costa Times reports.

The EBAL league includes nine teams across Alamo, Concord, Danville, Livermore, San Ramon and Pleasanton.

According to the North Coast Section Football website, San Ramon Valley High is second in the EBAL standings, with Foothill in third.

Player Blake Bierwith of California ran for the longest rushing play in East Bay this season against Livermore, sprinting 78 yards on the play and finishing with 182 in all, according to Max Preps.

This week, the team will play an away game against De La Salle High.
