Accomplishments: Ursella Cheung is a dynamic young lady. At 10 years old and 5’10”, she is often mistaken for someone much older.

As a fifth grader at Country Club, Ursella and her classmates play volleyball to work on math skills. Ursella is most proud of her shut-out this year in volleyball. Plus, she discovered a new game that she loves!

On weekends, she treasures sleeping in and says, “I wish my mom wouldn’t wake me in the morning and I can sleep until noon or after.”  Ursella also spends time on the weekend practicing her guitar. She’s only been playing guitar for about three months, and already was asked to perform at her church. Plus, she is an avid reader who can’t wait to start a new book, The Red Pyramid.

Ursella has a wonderful imagination, which helps her write stories and even songs.  Even in her free time after school, Ursella often writes stories just for fun.

Her biggest role model is singer, Avril Lavigne. “She is not afraid to live her life and stand up for herself," Ursella said. "And I think that is very important.”

Future goals: In 20 years, Ursella wants to turn her creativity into a career. She would love to become either a writer or a song composer. She wants to funnel her energy toward a career that will fuel her creative mind. Who know, maybe someday she’ll help Avril Lavigne write songs.
