assistant principal Damon Wright .
The now former Grizzly will be the new principal at .
Michael Gardner, an assistant superintendent for the Benicia Unified School District, said Cal High's principal Mark Corti told him that Wright was "the best assistant principal he’s had in the past 12 years.”
Do you agree? How do you think Wright did at Cal High? What do you consider to be his strength as an administrator? Is there anything Benicia High should be worried about with Wright as their new principal?
For Benicians, what do you want to know about Wright?
This story is being shared on Benicia and San Ramon Patch, and I'm hoping San Ramonians can help out our neighbors to the north and let them know what type of principal they can expect.
He is definitely going to be missed at California High School and whoever his predecessor is will have hard shoes to fill. Good Luck Mr. Wright at Benicia High School, you deserve it!
My son graduated from Cal High three years ago. I was very surprised to see in this article that Damon Wright had become the assistant principal there as we had only known him as a school counselor. So, he has only been an assistant principal for 3 years with no prior administrative experience (that I know of as he has been a school counselor - and as far as I know the Cal High counselor job might have been his first counseling job). I thought it took more years of experience to have enough experience to be a principal of a high school. My impression of San Ramon schools is that they hire young, inexperienced teachers/staff so they don't have to pay them very much.
