Registration is open for the Run For Education 5k run (formerly Primo's Run For Education), which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13 in Danville and San Ramon.

This marks the 30th year for the annual event that benefits the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation.

Last year, the race drew 9,000 runners from the community and raised $300,000.

In addition to the 5k, runners can opt for the 1/2 marathon race, certified by the U.S. Track and Field.

Bands and exhibitor booths will be set up at the finish line.

The race is sponsored by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, and takes all the money raised from the race and gives it to San Ramon Valley schools.

Online registration closes on Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. for the 1/2M and 5K timed races.

Online registration for the 5K Fun Run closes on October 12, 2013 at 10:00 pm.
