Middle School Career Exploration Day

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District will host its first annual Middle School Career Exploration Day.  The event is for SRVUSD middle school students and their parents to explore pathways to 21st Century Careers and learn about the opportunities and resources available in the district.  Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to high school students taking career pathway courses and tour the College & Career Center and Career Technical Education (CTE) facilities that exist at each of the district's comprehensive high schools.  College & Career Coordinators from each of the high schools will be there to meet with students and parents.

Activities for the event will feature a keynote address by John Korzick, who was recently named the 2010-2011 SRVUSD Teacher of the Year.  Korzick is a teacher and coordinator for the California High School Engineering & Design Academy.  The evening will also feature a panel of students who graduated from SRVUSD and are currently working in careers such as engineering, biotechnology, culinary arts, sports medicine, and multi-media/recording.   The evening will begin with an EXPO that will include exhibitors from industry, as well as programs from SRVUSD high schools.

Registration for this event is FREE.  Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Sign-Up Sheets are available in the Counseling Office at each middle school in the SRVUSD.
