California High School Evacuated Due to Gas Leak

The school sent out an email to parents about the evacuation

California High School has been evacuated due to a gas leak near Broadmoor Drive.

At 2:01 p.m. school officials had no further update from PG&E regarding the leak.

The school administration sent out this email to the parents of Cal High students:

2/13/13 1:15PM

Dear California High School Parents,

A natural gas leak has been detected near Broadmoor Drive along the main driveway at California High School. PG&E has advised the school to evacuate students and staff to the football field as a precaution until they are able to better assess the situation.

We will keep you informed as we get more information. There is no reason to come to the school, and we assume that school will resume once PG&E has fully assessed the situation.

Thank you!

Patch will update this story as we get more information.
