VP of the Dublin San Ramon Services District Elected to Alameda Local Agency Formation Commission

Georgean M. Vonheeder-Leopold, who is the historian for the City of Dublin, will hold the position through May 2017.

Information from the Dublin San Ramon Services District--

Georgean M. Vonheeder-Leopold, a lifetime resident of Alameda County who has been active in local government and community organizations for more than 35 years, was elected on July 10 to the Alameda Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) as the Alternate Special District Representative. Her four-year term begins July 11, 2013 and ends in May 2017. 

Vonheeder-Leopold was active in scouting and youth sports while raising four children. In 1977, she began serving on the Dublin Municipal Advisory Committee. She worked on the campaigns to incorporate Dublin and San Ramon that led to incorporation elections for the City of Dublin in 1982 and the City of San Ramon in 1983. She served on the first Dublin Planning Commission, which was tasked with writing the first general plan.

She was privileged to vote for the approval of the plan as a Planning Commissioner, and one month later, in April 1984, as a City Council member. Currently, Vonheeder-Leopold serves as Vice President of the Dublin San Ramon Services District, where she has been a board member from 1992 to 2000 and from 2009 to the present. She also serves as Historian for the City of Dublin (since 2008), Treasurer of the Dublin Historical Preservation Association (since 2005), and Treasurer of the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation (since 1997).
