City Monitoring Creek Water Levels Due to Storm

No creeks have breached their banks yet, but many are already full of water with more rain expected this weekend.

San Ramon has prepared and is ready for possible flooding that could arise from storms this weekend, according to Public Services Director Karen McNamara.

The city will be monitoring the town's creeks and 40 "hot spots" in the city where flooding has been a problem in the past. Crews will be working almost 24 hours a day through the weekend.

As of Friday afternoon, McNamara said that many creeks are full but the water hasn't breached the banks.

"We have been preparing for this all week," McNamara said. "We increased street sweeping and maintenance. We cleared debris and added more sandbags and we've moved equipment into positions where we might need it. We're ready."

Have you noticed any flooding in town? Worried about the creeks? Tell us where in the comments section and upload photos to this article.
