Public Invited to Discuss City's Economic Future

San Ramon is poised to update its economic development plan. A draft update will be available to review on Friday. And two workshops on the plan will take place before the month ends.

The city will hold a couple workshops to discuss updates to its economic development plan, a guide for the growth of San Ramon's local economy.

The city's Economic Development Advisory Committee is drafting and reviewing the 20-page update, which will be available for review beginning Friday.

The plan identifies goals, strategies and actions for the city to pursue as it enacts business retention, expansion and attraction efforts, supports a fiscally healthy government, realizes key development projects across the city and makes San Ramon a better place to live and work, said city administrative analyst Joe Tanner.

Two public workshops will be held to review the draft plan update before its adoption. A final plan document will incorporate comments from the workshops and be reviewed by the city's Economic Development Advisory Committee before going to City Council for adoption.

The workshops will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 and 27 at the San Ramon Community Center, 12501 Alcosta Blvd.
