Pavement Resurfacing Projects in San Ramon Scheduled to Start in June

Several projects are scheduled to begin, according to the City of San Ramon website.

The City of San Ramon has provided the following information regarding street closures and road maintenance starting in June.

Norris Canyon Road Pavement Resurfacing (Alcosta Blvd to Twin Creeks Dr):

The construction of Norris Canyon Road Pavement Resurfacing Project is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. Majority of the pavement resurfacing work is planned to be constructed on normal working days between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the slurry seal resurfacing operations planned on Saturdays and/or Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The proposed improvements will include concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacements; asphalt concrete pavement repairs; pavement crack seal and slurry seal treatments; traffic signal detector loop installations; and pavement striping and markings installations.

Construction phase of the project is scheduled for completion by September, 2014. In order to complete the proposed improvements, lane closures and traffic controls will be established. These traffic control measures will temporarily reduce the width of the roadway to a single lane in each direction during certain hours. Various portions of the roadway between Alcosta Boulevard and Twin Creek Drive may be temporarily blocked as the work progresses; however, the Contractor will be required to maintain access to all businesses and residences.

The City asks for your cooperation and consideration while construction is underway. Please drive carefully through the construction zones. While the project has been planned to minimize impacts to the traveling public, some construction impacts and inconvenience cannot be avoided. As with any major roadway construction, traffic delays and temporary lane closures should be expected.

The City has contracted with MCK Services Inc. of Martinez to perform the roadway improvement work.
