Faria Preserve Project Stalls For Further Revision

Parking and lighting issues need to be worked out before the project can continue, officials say.

There was no move to approve plans for the Faria Preserve Project on August 14.

Parking and lighting were specific issues that needed to be reviewed and worked on before the project could continue, said Karen McNamara, director for the city's parks and community services department.

Nearly 20 people showed up to the public discussion, including Deerwood Ridge resident Robert Klinger, who started a petition against the park in July because of traffic and other concerns.

In addition to the physical presence from the public, McNamara said the parks department received about 45 emails about the project days before the meeting on August 14.

A public hearing will be scheduled for next month for further discussion.
