Congressman Pete Stark visited with San Francisco Chronicle reporters and editors on Tuesday and claimed one writer, Debra J. Saunders, was contributing to his opponent's (Eric Swalwell) campaign.
When people in the room demanded he prove this, Stark looked at the papers in front of him and after an awkward few moments, retracted the accusation.
The Chronicle posted the video (above) of the incident on their Politics blog Tuesday.
This comes on the heels of Stark making another retraction, after while on the Dublin City Council from a prominent real-estate family in exchange for votes on zoning issues.

Stark, Swalwell (both Democrats) and conservative Chris Pareja are competing for the open seat in the newly formed 15th Congressional District, which includes San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, Castro Valley, San Leandro and Union City.
The top two in June's primary election will compete in the general election.
