Intense opposition faces Danville developer Sid Corrie's proposal to build a 150,000-plot cemetery on the rolling hills of Tassajara Valley in San Ramon, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Resistance for the planned Creekside Memorial Park by conservancy groups, neighbors and 2,000 residents who signed a petition against the cemetery plans have pushed the county's decision -- expected by December -- further into 2014, the article states.

Proponents for the cemetery (which would serve San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Blackhawk and Diablo) say the area is running out of available plots in existing cemeteries.
