A More Energy Efficient San Ramon

City Council on Tuesday will discuss a plan to team up with PG&E to help local businesses cut down on energy use.

PG&E recently asked the city if it could bring in a campaign that aims to "green up" San Ramon businesses – and municipal offices.

The utility company is offering to give free evaluations to local businesses and the city to help them pinpoint exactly how to cut back on energy use and save money in the long run.

Basically, PG&E gets money from the government for public outreach. The company wants to spend some of it helping make San Ramon more energy efficient, it says.

City Council on Tuesday will hear a presentation about the campaign and decide whether to give it the go-ahead.
