Teen Arrested at School Dance Friday Night

A 16-year-old from out of town crashed the dance social at Dougherty Valley High School and wouldn't leave when he was asked.

Police arrested a 16-year-old Fremont boy at a Dougherty Valley High School dance Friday night after he and some friends–none of them students at the school–started some trouble and refused to leave.

Turned out, there was a warrant for the 16-year-old's arrest, said Lt. Dan Pratt of the San Ramon Police Department.

"School staff asked them to leave and when they refused, they were contacted by a(n) ... officer," Pratt said. "The officer discovered that one of the juveniles had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest."

The teen was booked into juvenile hall. The dance was an all-grade social after the school's first football scrimmage of the season.
