The bomb squad from the Walnut Creek Police Department was called in, but the package contained mostly tools.

A suspicious package found on the Iron Horse Trail on Thursday morning concerned San Ramon Police officers enough to call in the bomb squad, but the package contained harmless tools, according to Lt. Mike Boeher.

The was alerted to the suspicious package by some concerned citizens at about 7:20 a.m. The package was located near where the Iron Horse Trail intersects with Bollinger Canyon Road, close to Bishop Ranch 1.

The labeling on the package and the chalk around it made officers suspicious enough to call in the bomb squad from the Walnut Creek Police Department.

The bomb squad determined the package harmless and it contained mostly tools.
