Police Arrest Two Men Suspected in String of Burglaries

Police chased the pair of alleged burglars from San Ramon to San Leandro before arresting them earlier today.

Two men believed to have burglarized several local homes were arrested earlier today after a high-speed chase that took police from San Ramon to San Leandro.

Marcos Fragoso, 21, and Danzel Harbin, 20, both from Oakland, were booked at the county jail in Martinez on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and flight from police with disregard for others' safety.

Undercover San Ramon officers just after 10:30 this morning recognized the pair's car from previous reports of residential burglaries in San Ramon and nearby cities. The suspects were spotted on Broadmoor Drive, according to San Ramon police Lt. Dan Pratt.

When police tried to pull them over, Fragoso drove off, Pratt said.

The police chased them onto the freeway, where Alameda County Sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers took over the chase.

Police said they found evidence in Fragoso's car, including items taken from the San Ramon home just before the pursuit.

Authorities say the men have been linked to other burglaries in the city over the past few months. San Ramon detectives are working with their counterparts in surrounding cities in the investigation, which is ongoing.
