Small Fire in the San Ramon Library Bathroom Tuesday Morning

The paper towel dispenser caught on fire in the men's bathroom but caused no damage or injuries.

A small fire broke out in the men's bathroom on the first floor of the  Tuesday morning.

At around 10 a.m., the paper towel dispenser  caught on fire but caused no injuries or damage, Senior Community Library Manager Kathy Middleton.

The San Ramon Valley Fire District was contacted at 10:10 a.m., but the fire was already extinguished when firefighters arrived, Battalion Chief Mike Picard said.

The library opens at 10 a.m., but the doors open for the day care center at 9 a.m.

Librarians were alerted of the fire when a man told them he smelled smoke and he thought there might be an electrical fire.

The librarians then went into the men's bathroom and noticed the fire coming from the paper towel dispenser .

There have been no arrests and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
