An overturned tanker is blocking the two right lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash was reported at 10:43 a.m. on eastbound I-580 just west of Vasco Road.

CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said a hazardous materials team has been called to the scene for a possible cleanup, but he did not have information on what substance had spilled.

Initial reports indicated that one person was trapped just after the crash, but Bartlett did not yet have word on any injuries.

As of 11:30 a.m. crews were still working to upright the tanker.
