Grassfire Burns Through an Acre Behind Memorial Park

Fire breaks helped stop the spread of the vegetation fire by Bollinger Canyon and San Ramon Valley roads.

Firefighters doused a blaze that charred an acre behind Memorial Park Monday afternoon.

Disced fire breaks helped stop the spread, said David Stephens, deputy fire marshal for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

The fire remains under investigation, he said.
