Final Suspect Arrested in Gold N Treasures Robbery

Manuel Arroyo, 21, was arrested on July 25 in Oakland on suspicion of robbery and homicide for the May 2012 Gold N Treasures robbery.

By Bay City News-

A suspect in a jewelry store robbery last year that led to the fatal shooting of a Hayward resident has been arrested, San Ramon police said today.

Manuel Jovan Arroyo, 21, was located in Oakland Thursday and arrested on suspicion of robbery and homicide in connection with the May 30,
2012, robbery of the Gold N Treasures store at 2550 San Ramon Valley Blvd.,
police said today.

Police believe he is one of four men, one of them armed, who robbed the store.

One of those men, 18-year-old Hayward resident Kibrom Bairu, was shot and killed by someone inside the store during the attempted robbery.

Two other suspects, Hayward resident Krishneel Prasad, 20, and Gregory Lewis, 23, were arrested after the shooting and charged with murder under the state's provocative-act doctrine, under which a crime partner may be held accountable when an accomplice's behavior results in death.
