4-Year-Old Girl Bitten by Pit Bull in San Ramon Friday

The injured girl was taken to Children's Hospital in Oakland, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A 4-year-old girl was bitten by a pit bull on Casa Grande Place on Friday evening and taken to Children's Hospital in Oakland for non-life threatening injuries, San Ramon Police Lt. Mike Boehrer said.

Boehrer said he wasn't completely sure of the details because Contra Costa Animal Services handled the incident after San Ramon Police initially responded. He said he believed the pit bull was secured in its owner's yard when the girl walked up to it and was bitten.

There were no arrests made and it's unknown whether the dog was seized.

Contra Costa Animal Services officials could not be reached for comment.
