Looking for something fun to do in San Ramon to celebrate St. Patty's Day?
Well, shake my shamrocks. Here are a few ideas:
First stop: Get a Shamrock Shake at McDonalds (2481 San Ramon Valley Boulevard). For the lactose intolerant, here's a soy milk copycat version of the McDonalds' Shamrock Shake.
Next stop: See's Candies at (2005 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 152). What would St. Patrick's Day be without See's Irish Potatoes? Good for: Irish friends, teachers, moms, little kids. Price: $17 (for 6 individually wrapped potatoes)
That should hold you, calorie wise, for about a week. But this is St. Patty's Day and you've got way more indulging to do.
For dinner, check out:
The Brass Door (2154 San Ramon Valley Boulevard) slow cooks its corned beef and cabbage to melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
Thyme to Eat (2217 San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Suite F) is keeping its doors open later than usual just for St. Patty's Day and will feature its own special corned beef & cabbage entree.
The Hop Yard Alehouse (470 Market Place) offers both corned beef & cabbage and an impressive, award-winning selection of Irish beers.
Or you can head to Jack's Brewing Company (2410 San Ramon Valley Boulevard) for green beer, then (if you can still walk) slip over next door to Shboom Night Club (2410 San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Suite 130) for a night of dancing and ... more green beer...
If you happen to survive all this over-indulgence, you'll know the luck of the Irish truly is with you...and the good news is the cab drive back to your house won't cost that much since you were smart enough to celebrate so close to home.
