Each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., in Danville offers storytime for children who are three and older. Bring along duck food and feed the ducks in the shopping center before and after hearing some great stories.
On Wednesday, July 18, head to the for “Super Tommy” by Puppet Art Theater. This free performance occurs at 1 p.m. and goes to 2 p.m., and free tickets are given to the first 120 people in front of the library at 12:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 25 at 1 p.m., the Dublin Library offers a short showing of “Where the Wild Things Are” followed by a craft for those 5 and up.
On July 21, head to in Walnut Creek between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Your child can make his or her own salute to the summer Olympics, a crafty Olympic torch. Return to this great store for another free craft on Saturday, July 28 to make a summer fan to keep cool as the weather heats up!
On Saturday, July 21, the San Ramon Main Library offers it’s ever-popular Book Bingo at 11:15 a.m. This time, bingo features gift certificates to their upcoming book sale where lucky winners can choose their own books. Also Head back to this library for the weekly Wednesday movie matinee at 3 p.m. on July 18 and 25.
Looking for an activity the whole family will enjoy? Throughout the summer, the city of San Ramon offers a summer concert series at on Sundays at 5:30. On July 22, the group “Livewire” performs classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. On July 29, hear the “Fabulous Cruisetones” perform some classic oldies. Get there early, bring a picnic dinner, and don’t forget your blanket and dancing shoes!
In Danville, the library’s town green is hosting a summer family movie. The movie begins at 8:30 p.m., just in time for darkness, but crafts and other activities provide family fun starting at 6:30 p.m. Get there early, though, to grab a good spot, and feel free to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and refreshments. On July 20, your whole family can watch “The Muppet Movie,” the original classic from 1979.
How about a freebie just for adults? Do you love to cook and are looking to be inspired by a local chef and author? Head to Read Bookstore in the Blackhawk Shopping Center on Saturday, July 29th at 4 p.m., where author and chef, Ying Chang Compestine, will share secrets and recipes from her book, “Ying’s Best One Dish Meals.”
Not only will Ying share some of her recipes, but also attendees will get to sample some of the delectable dishes found inside her cookbook.
