Holiday Tree Lighting at Bishop Ranch

The 70-foot evergreen is in place for the ninth annual tree lighting.

A 70-foot evergreen sprouted up off Bollinger Canyon Road recently for the ninth annual tree lighting at Bishop Ranch.

Three landscape staff members will work on the tree for a week, setting it in place, trim it and decorating it with more than 60,000 lights. After the holidays, the tree will be turned into mulch and used on the grounds at Bishop Ranch.

Enjoy an old-fashioned holiday party Dec. 2 that includes sleigh rides, Santa Claus and live music presented by Bishop Ranch. Vendors will be selling refreshments to sweeten your evening stroll. There will be kids' activities, school choir performances and plenty of photo opportunities for this season's greeting card.

See you under the tree!
