Video: San Ramon Girl Scouts Celebrate 100th Birthday

About 650 Girl Scouts gathered in Central Park on Monday night.

All of San Ramon's Girl Scout troops came together at Monday night to celebrate the organization's 100th birthday.

About 650 scouts, ages 5 to 18, gathered and sang songs, including happy birthday.

"Back when Girls Scouts started, it allowed girls to do things they normally weren't able to do, like go camping," said troop leader Jayne Riley, who organized the event. "Even today, Girl Scouts continues to teach leadership skills. It's not just about selling cookies."
