Video: SNL Pokes Fun at Time Magazine's Breastfeeding Mom from San Ramon

Jamie Lynne Grumet, who grew up in San Ramon, came into Saturday Night Live's crosshairs after appearing on Time Magazine's cover last week, breastfeeding her 3-year-old son.

Just over a week ago, former San Ramon resident Jamie Lynne Grumet was one mom of millions in the United States.

Then this happened.

Grumet, who grew up in San Ramon and now lives in Southern California, became a national sensation after being featured on Time Magazine's cover last week, breastfeeding her 3-year-old son.

The story that supplements the controversial cover is about attachment parenting, which embraces the idea to keep children close (breastfeeding, sleeping with them) into the child's preschool years.

Not surprisingly, Saturday Night Live didn't dive into the details of the pros and cons of attachment parenting in Seth Meyers' "Weekend Update" skit. (You can watch it above.)

"Really, Time magazine!?" Meyers asked. "This is the image you went with for Mother's Day? Look, I have nothing against breastfeeding, but there are more appropriate places to breastfeed your kid than the cover of Time magazine."

Meyers didn't stop there, and added, "Really—this photo doesn't say 'I'm a loving mother feeding my son.' It says, 'I'm the crazy queen from Game of Thrones.'"

Tell us what you think of the Time's cover and Saturday Night Live's parady of it in the comments section.
