The stars of San Ramon Valley were shining recently at the Valley Teen Idol 2012 SRV Rotary event.

San Ramon Valley's stars were shining bright March 24 at the San Ramon Valley Rotary Club's 7th annual Valley Teen Idol event.

The event took place at the Crosswind Church in Dublin at 1 p.m.

Winners were:

  • First place: Rachel Rolleri, 15,
  • Second place: Ayoni Thompson, 12,
  • Third place: Stephanie Behring, 17, Monte Vista High School

The other finalists included:

  • PRIYA VIJAYKUMAR, 17, MISSION SAN JOSE HS
  • ROBERT BORROMEO, 12, STONE VALLEY MS
  • CHELSEY WOJCIK, 16 & NAKISA GOLABI, 16, CALIFORNIA HS
  • ESTHER KIM, 16, FOOTHILL HS
  • CLARE BRENNAN, 12, STONE VALLEY MS
  • HOLLY ECHSNER, 16, DOUGHERTY VALLEY HS
  • CAITLIN, KELLY AND MEGHAN HOSLEY, LAS LOMAS HS

The first place prize, which Rolleri won, was a four-hour recording session at Berkeley's Fantasy Studio. This included a producer, sound engineer, and musical and production mentorship for one song that would be included on an iTunes album. The prize, donated at Piano Finders and Polara Music, was valued at $2,600.

The second place winner received $500, third place got $250, and fourth through 10th place winners took home $50 a piece.

Rotary is a 501(3)c non-profit organization. Proceeds to benefit the local community of San Ramon Valley and Rotary International humanitarian projects.
