Art & Wind Festival in San Ramon this Weekend

From arts and crafts, to entertainment, great food and, of course, kites — the Art & Wind Festival offers a little bit of everything this upcoming Sunday and Monday in San Ramon's Central Park.

The Art & Wind Festival is this Sunday and Mondayin San Ramon’s , from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

The festival will feature 200 arts and crafts booths juried by Pacific Fine Arts. The Festival will feature a wide range of artwork including paintings, sculpture, woodwork, toys, jewelry, hand painted clothing, stained glass, music, photography and more.

Like every year, kites will be one of the main attractions of the event. There will be kite flying demonstrations throughout both days by professional flyers from all over the country, free kite making workshops for youth, and lots of kites to buy. After purchasing or making your own kite, spend some time enjoying the beautiful setting at San Ramon Central Park with the perfect kite flying conditions.

Entertainment will be featured on three stages and two large kids’ activity areas with rides, face painting, and fun crafts for the kids to make.

Take a break from all the fun and enjoy great food. This year there will be 27 food booths operated by local non-profits that raise much needed funds for their organizationsand projects in the area.

There will be gyros, Filipino food, peach cobbler, barbecued pork sandwiches, Caesar salad, tri-tip sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, nachos and more. Last year the non-profit groups who participated collectively earned over $85,000. 

The festival will also feature an early morning hot air balloon launch on Monday, May 28 at 6 a.m. Bring the family for a spectacular close up view of six hot air balloons as they lift slowly into the sky (weather dependant).

Sponsoring the event will be Chevron and our gold level sponsor, Comcast. Silver sponsors of this year's festival include the San Ramon Marriott, the San Ramon Regional Medical Center, KKIQ, and the Contra Costa Times/San Ramon Valley Times.

San Ramon Patch will have a booth at the event where you can meet the editor Patrick Creaven and Patch staff from around the Bay Area.
