Buy 'Safe and Sane Fireworks' in Dublin, Just Don't Use Them in San Ramon

The fireworks go on sale on Friday at noon and can only be used in three of the City of Dublin parks on July 4. Fireworks are not permitted in San Ramon.

A Dublin tradition of selling fireworks designated as "safe and sane" will begin this week. At 12 p.m. on June 28, 15 booths located around the city will sell the fireworks. The sales at each booth will benefit the organizations running them.

According to the City of Dublin website, there are three parks designated for the use of the fireworks. The safe and sane fireworks can be used at Alamo Creek Park, the Dublin Sports Grounds and Emerald Glen Park on July 4 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The fireworks are not permitted in any of the surrounding cities such as Pleasanton, Livermore and San Ramon. Fireworks are illegal in most of Contra Costa County. Only those fireworks designated as "safe and sane" can be used at the three Dublin parks on fourth of July.

The Alameda County Fire Department enforces a "zero tolerance" policy as it relates to sales, possession and use of illegal fireworks, according to the flier posted on the City of Dublin website.
