Local Book Sharing Site Launches in San Ramon

There's a new and easy way for book lovers to swap books in San Ramon and Danville.

A San Ramon resident has launched a website that helps users find the books they want to read in their very own neighborhood.

Book Square is an new, intuitive online platform for book lovers in San Ramon and Danville who may be interested in sharing and exchanging books with each other.

"Book sharing is the central piece of Book Square platform and it allows us to find and connect with neighbors for more meaningful relationships,” said the site's co-founder, Sharad Gupta.

The website, which rolled out in its beta phase on Dec. 30, invites users to build their virtual bookshelves as a way to showcase their book collection to others in their local neighborhood.

When users add a book to their bookshelf, they can choose to make their book available for borrowing, renting, and/or sale to others.

The site is still in its beginning form, but Gupta says more features will be added in the coming months.

Gupta has lived with his family in San Ramon since 2009.
