Chinese and Korean food by Yu Yu Delivered

Yu Yu Restaurant Chinese and Korean dishes are now delivered by Foodnearu.

Hey Dublin, another terrific restaurant has joined the ‘Foodnearu’ family!

Yu Yu Chinese & Korean Cuisine” located at 7465 Amador Valley Blvd. Dublin, is our latest victim… And frankly we say YAHOO! The owner Yan Huang and general manager Luy Ji both of Chinese descent, proudly serve a complete and really delicious Chinese menu. Their food is authentic, they use only fresh herbs, vegetables, fish, etc… and it makes a difference. The Korean menu might just as well be authentic; the folks at Yu Yu have all studied or worked with Korean chefs, gleaning knowledge of subtle differences (and some not so subtle differences) in cuisines. China is huge, claiming most of the Asian continent, Korea is an island nation. Ergo Chinese food is cut from a wide swath of area and different areas have availability to different types of food. Imagine the United States, in Nebraska or Kansas City you go out for a Steak right? In New Orleans, it has to be Gumbo… San Francisco is the Dungeness crab capitol of the world, delicious unto itself, but over on the east coast in Baltimore, they wouldn’t have a clue what ‘Dungeness’ means. They eat Blue crab. They eat REAL Crab Cakes!!! Left coasters get “Panko” with a dab o’ crab…

China has similar cuisine differences. Korea is as I mentioned a much smaller nation in both size and population, and so the differences in cuisines are much more subtle. Luy Ji says some differences between Chinese food and Korean food are the amount and types of spices they use. Koreans she explained, employ sweet and sour sauces, peppers, chiles, etc. in order to give a lesser variety of food more texture and taste. For instance, Koreans prefer noodles that are a little crunchy and/or the texture of something like a ‘Gummy Bear’ while Chinese prefer smoother noodles and/or textures. I must tell you, I really did learn quite a bit from Luy Ji. For me anyhow, the reason that this job is so much fun is learning about the different fascinating and wonderfully original cuisine from around the world.

Well enough pontificating… The menu at Yu Yu reads like a mystery novel. The Chinese menu on one side filled with classic appetizers ie; Egg rolls, wontons, fried dumplings… Seafood served hot & spicy (or mild for wimps like me) includes Kung Pao Prawns, Kung Pao Calamari or fish, Szechwan Prawns and combos galore. Chow mein Chow Fun, poultry, pork, or beef dishes, and always fried rice and vegetables. The Korean menu on the back page is an assortment of dishes that includes; Za Zang Myun, Gan Za Zang, Yang Zang Pi. (I know, it sounds like someone dropped the silverware drawer…) Tough to pronounce perhaps, but really delicious, zesty, spicy, and Fun! I don’t know about you, but I love being introduced to new taste sensations. The best Steak in the world gets boring if you eat it every day…

Go to Yu Yu and have a meal! Try it, I bet you love it!
