Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Contra Costa County (www.cccocasa.org) is recruiting volunteers age 21 and over who want to make a difference in the life of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers advocate for children in foster care to make sure they do not get lost in the over-burdened legal system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home. CASA volunteers work one-on-one with a child, and stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. We require a two-year commitment, and an average of 15-20 hours of volunteer service per month. Training, which starts in January and April, consists of approximately 40 hours.

CASA of Contra Costa County is the only nonprofit organization appointed by the Contra Costa dependency court to advocate for the needs of abused and neglected children. We have been advocating for children in Contra Costa County since 1981.
