DVHS ICMS presents : A Lecture Demonstration by Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya on the Science of Raga
We are proud to present the world renowned, Grammy nominee Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya in an intimate afternoon on Oct 20th, 3PM (Sunday) at Mosaic Recreation Center, 1475 Bayberry View Lane, San Ramon, CA 94582. Pandit ji will share with us his expertise and mastery of his art, and talk about the spiritual aspect of the Raga in Hindustani Classical Music, through his learning under maestros Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Pandit Brij Bhushan Kabra, and Ali Akbar Khan. We hope that this lecture-demonstration will allow you to experience the music you love in a new, more educated way. Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya runs “School of Universal Music”, that is dedicated to teaching Indian classical music, provide stage opportunities to the talented young musicians, and to propagate the true essence of Indian Classical Music in the younger generation. Pandit ji has implemented a special music-training course with emphasis on building up musical consciousness, working towards better living through practice of Raga and kindling awareness about the spiritualism of the Raga.
