What Should Go Here?

There's a large, empty storefront in the Crow Canyon Commons Shopping Center. What would you like to see move in?

In the corner of the Crow Canyon Commons Shopping Center there's a large storefront that needs a tenant.

It's a big space that could house almost any kind of business, from a resturant to a retail store.

Is there a type of business you would like to see in the shopping center? Is San Ramon missing a type of business you want? Tell us in the comments section.

I'd like to see a Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ go in there. I've only eaten at Lucille's once, when I was in Southern Cal on business several years ago, but, the food was incredible. BEST burger I ever had. And, that strawberry lemonade was heavenly. The company only has locations in Southern Cal and one lone Northern Cal location in Rocklin. It really would be nice to see them come to the Bay Area.

Gun Store.

How about Hobby Lobby? San Ramon needs a large crafting store.

Some high end restaurants would be great. San Ramon doesn't have lots of good places to shop, dine or visit. Have to always to go Dublin, Pleasanton and now Livermore.

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour.

Izzy's steak house or something a bit smaller like an In-and-Out or a Sonic (just without the drive through) No more family style Italian, wings, Pizza places etc. Either Izzy's or something useful.

Also, a Trader-Joes would be nice if this space is large enough.

OMG, I agree with M Watson...Farrell's Ice Cream! We need to bring that experience to a new generation here in Northern California!

Hobby lobby would be awesome. Wasn't this a ice cream place already?

San Ramon needs an Olive Garden. Perfect spot for it

Trader Jose!

Rodizio Grill (Brazillian Steakhouse) or Del Frisco

Unfortunately, that particular spot has been unlucky for restaurants - there must've been at least half a dozen eateries that have tried and failed since the center was built. Trader Joe's would add nicely to the city's coffers.

I agree with Dusty here. Restaurants don't have luck here. How about an indoor sports arena. Or a Trader Joe's

This the spot at the west corner of the shopping center. It has been a dead spot for the last few years, but I thought it used to be an ice cream parlour/restaurant? Gotta remember there are several restaurants in the center already. To make a go of it, you'll need to have some serious draw. People want an Izzy's (already failed over at the Marketplace), a BBQ place (a new Dickeys is at the center and Firehouse 37 is over at the Marketplace), and an ice cream place (didn't Loard's just fail at this shopping center?). Trader Joe's would kill parking in this part of the shopping center.

We've tried everything that has opened there, nothing has ever survived or stayed opened for very long. Whatever goes in, hope it fits in and stays open ! There are several good ideas mentioned in the comments, wonder if its the location being hidden that is the problem .... ?

Great idea, Ms. B! Trader Joe's is such an awesome store! We use the Danville store, but, you have to be careful not to get caught in the after school traffic when classes at SRV High end. What a nightmare! Up to this point, Trader's hasn't been interested in opening a San Ramon location, but, this looks perfect.

Golden Corral! That would be cool! Friday night shrimp night.
Rodger Codger February 20, 2013 at 05:23 PM
Autozone or Napa Auto Parts would be nice. There isn't a parts store at this end of town.
EastBayDad February 20, 2013 at 10:58 PM
None of the above - How about a book store / coffee shop with lots of space where kids can do homework, eat an organic (or at minimum) a healthy snack, and parents can get some extra work done on computers. I miss Borders so dang much!!!! If I had the capital, I would be framing the place in right now.

Clearly, this place should be converted to an indoor gun range! Just kidding, it would be a good location for specialized retail, such as laser tag for kids, with an arcade.

San Ramon needs a bike shop like Pegasus or Livermore Cyclery.
