Since Border's went bust in April, the large commercial real estate property in Shops at Bishop Ranch has been empty. But not for much longer.

HomeGoods, a large retail chain, sells name-brand home décor, bedding, cookware, furniture and seasonal gifts at 20 – 60 percent off specialty and department store prices is moving in some time in the spring of 2012.

“We think that HomeGoods will be a great addition to San Ramon’s retail mix and a strong co-tenant for Whole Foods and Target,” says Marc Fontes, director of economic development for the city. “We don’t have many home furnishing stores in our city and we expect HomeGoods to be a long-term asset for our community.”

A cannonball that was misfired during the filming of an episode of  "Mythbusters" struck a Dublin Ranch home Tuesday afternoon then careened across a busy road and ended up inside a van parked in a driveway.

The San Ramon Valley Fire District said they believed the damages from Dec. 2 fire at the Country Brook Apartment complex will be an estimated $1.65 million.

Fire officials said they believed the fire originated from unit 208, where a man jumped off the balcony to escape the blaze. The man was injured from the fall and . It was the only reported injury from the fire.
