The 4-year-old girl whose face was bitten by a Pit bull on Jan. 6, returned from the hospital on Tuesday and the family shared their story of what happened.

The mother said he daughter walked up to the neighbors Pit bull who then latched on to her face before the owner of the dog was able to intervene. After reconstructive surgey the girl returned home healthy.

The dog was turned over to Contra Costa Animal Services and is expected to be euthanized in the coming days.
