Sheep Shearing Day at Forest Home Farms

The annual sheep-shearing event takes place this Saturday at the historic park.

Spring is here. In San Ramon, that means it's sheep shearing time at Forest Home Farms.

The public is invited to watch some shaggy sheep get their annual trim at an event this Saturday at the historic park.

In addition to the sheep shearing, attendees can watch a variety of demonstrations, including blacksmithing, lace-making, wood carving, spinning and quilting.

There will also be sheepdog demonstrations, garden tastings, crafts, games, tractor rides and 4-H animals on display.

The daylong fair is set against a backdrop of live music. There will be food available. And while you're there, you can peek around in a guided tour.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and takes place at 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd.

To pre-register, email the San Ramon Historic Foundation at SanRamonHF@gmail.com with the number of adult and children tickets you'd like to buy .

Admission at the gate is $7 for adults 13 and up, $5 for children 3 to 12 and free for kids 2 and under.

If you register in advance, adults can get in for $5 and kids 3 to 12 for $3.
